Pre-K and Kindergarten

A child's first academic experience will mold their attitude and feelings about learning. We want to make sure your child has a positive and fun first learning experience while preparing them for future academic success.

Close Friendships

Our small groups really allow students to form close friendships with each other and practice positive social skills that will benefit them for a lifetime.

Fun and Hands On

Our Pre-K and Kindergarten programs are filled with hands on activities, games and songs. In addition to a textbook curriculum that meets state standards, students practice new skills in fun and creative ways that allow for long term retention and a positive learning experience.

Individualized Attention

Each child receives individualized attention from a certified teacher with experience teaching children at the Pre-K and Kindergarten levels. Children are constantly and closely monitored, receiving corrective feedback as needed. Our small groups also allow for lots of positive reinforcement through verbal praise and tangible rewards.

Curriculum

Students in Kindergarten will use the BJU Curriculum for Math and Reading. This Christian curriculum teaches phonics, reading comprehension, sight words, writing and math skills through fun and colorful stories. Workbooks are accompanied by puppets, music and occasional stories from the bible. The "Homegrown Preschooler" will be used for Pre-K students, filled with activities that follow the monthly theme to develop students' cognitive, social, fine and gross motor skills.

Cooperative Learning

Students are encouraged to work together and help each other to solve problems and learn new skills. Research has shown cooperative learning helps with knowledge retention, increased self esteem and higher levels of achievement.

Learning through Games

Curriculum is accompanied by games that allow students to interact with each other and have fun while practicing important skills. Our director, Ms. Pena, completed a research study during her higher education studies which showed students have an easier time learning and retaining new skills when taught and practiced using games students enjoy.
